Parent involvement
There are many ways you can get involved in life at CIS.
Some parent opportunities include:
Joining our parent teacher association (PTA). This group of dedicated parents organise events and celebrations for the community.
Acting as a country ambassador. This role is especially important for the Uniting Nations Food Fair.
Acting as a room or grade level parent - you’ll be communicating with parents in your child’s class (primary) or grade (secondary). Think playdate, parties, and organisation for this role!
Mystery reader or guided reading helper (primary only).
Acting as a chaperone on one of your child’s field or open minds trips (for primary only)
Sharing a skill or talking about your career / industry
Becoming a Husky Hero - we are always on the lookout for energetic team sports supporters.
If you’d prefer something a bit different, we run a series of parent coffee mornings and information sessions across the course of the school year. Our parentEd topics are broad and you’ll be able to learn about: curriculum, university guidance, wellbeing, digital literacy and much, much more.
Many of our parents work, and we understand that you may not be able to make everything, but we encourage everyone to to get involved, either by volunteering or simply attending the occasional event.
